As Pleiades Peru , we feel lucky enough to walk one of the most beautiful treks of the world shows extraordinary scenery from cloud forest to snow cap mountains, archaeological sites, orchids and hummingbirds covering a distance of 42 kms in 4 days, 3 nights accompanied by a Guide, cook and porters.
Overnights are in tents at designated campsites with basic facilities (Campsites subject to change)
The physical effort requires by the ascent to a highest pass over 4,200 m.a.s.l over sea level called Warmiwañusca where is not good to stay too long because the lack of oxygen after is the descending to Pacaymayo . Continuing the climb through the inca cobbled stone trail there is a lagoon called Yanacocha or Black Lake in this area it is possible to see wild animals like Tarucas, andean vizcachas, spectacled bears etc.
At the top is the pass called Runkuraqay at 3900 m.a.s.l then starts the way down to Sayacmarca an archaeological center with impressive constructions of fountains and aqueducts.
Then the trail goes to Phuyupatamarca another high pass at 3600 m.a.s.l called The spot over the clouds it is placed in a space that dominates a broad territory it must have been an important religious center with aligned fountains an channels that are still with water flowing.
From this place the trail goes to Wiñaywuayna means Forever Young at 2700 m.a.s.l an important site with many Inka constructions many orchids, butterflies and hummingbirds are possible to be seen.
Then starts the last part, continue walking through a real Inca stones till the “gringo killer” a stairway to lead you to the ancient entrance INTI PUNCU or SUN GATE where visitors see the first time MACHUPICCHU SANCTUARY named by UNESCO a World Heritage and One of the Seven WONDERS OF THE World.
